My son removed his belt tentioner on his 2007 Explorer and now can"t reload the tentioner? It seems to me the travel in the tentioner is all the out (unloaded). Any help?

if he let it snap out to the end he could have damaged the tensioner and now it won't move,,
i know the springs in these things are very strong, maybe use a bigger tool to move it,,

i dont understand what you mean by reload it. and remove the tentioner. did he remove the 10m bolt?

put it back its notched to fit one way, then use a 3/8 breaker bar to put the belt back on.

less its in 2 pieces then you need a new tentioner.

is it possible he's trying to route the belt the wrong way around the pulley? and pulling on the tensioner in the wrong direction?
