jls99expo, I have gone through quite a few reviews on tires last week or so plus did searches here on the various tires plus at tirerack.com. I looked at bridgestone dueler revo, dueler a/t, firestone destination le, goodyear fortera,
dayton timerline(they are a firestone brand), michelin ltx m/s. Stay away from the michelin cross terrains, majority of reviews I read say that mileage is not what great even though tire is rated for 65 k.
I went with the michelin ltx m/s. Should get them today from discount tire (they had to order'm). I had oem michelin cross terrains, 1 tire is at 4/32 at 44 k miles. The guy at discount tire call michelin and got me a 25% discount on next set( that helped my wallet alot). .
Price wise, check sams club, costco, first, then go to discount tire, if you have one and see what kind of price you can get them to give you.
It all depends on what you can afford and what type of driving you do with your explorer.
Anyway, that is my 2 cents worth. Happy holidays and good shopping.
