Does any body kno how the bfg a/t's do in sand...???:help: THANKS!!!

Well i would love too... but 1st i need to get em lol... and i am debaten between those or the truxs sts:dunno: wich i heard some pretty bad things about...
 






A friend of mine has them and goes beach fishing regularly and likes them, 33x10.5 on his wrangler.

And a word of advice, don't start a new thread for every new question. This could have easily been posted in your other tire thread, and you could be getting more responses to both types of tires.
 






They work pretty well when aired down to the right pressure.

The sidewalls on the procomps are a litte more flexible than the bfg which is what you want in the sand.
 












Just spent a weekend on pismo beach in some pretty loose sand and my BFGs work great in the sand at 15 psi. I've heard the super swampers work well in sand, but on the highway you wont be as happy as with the BFGs. They're popular for good reason.

the BFG KO is one of the best tires you can run in the sand

its poor wet traction lug pattern design gives it wonderfull floatation in the sand or snow

If you look at a KO tire you can see the water side exits, the path the water usually follows to exit from under a tire, is blocked off by a big lug!
I wont run KO's here in CO because 1. Price 2. they hydroplane like a mother!! we get slush 2' deep, hail /puddles 3' deep (twice last week), and snow, I found the KO does not wear as good as the old BFG AT's and it hydroplane... but that flaotation makes it absolutely *****in in the sand or deep snow.

My problem is for the $$$ we spend on tires around here, few tires seem to deliver on their promises Goodyear has a new long wear/workhorse aggressive Wrangler out foir SUV light trucks.., good price at $192 ea (for 285/75 r16) I would likely try those

Lately I have been happy with Dick Cepek FCII's and Mickey Thompson tires, You can pick up Yokohama Geolanders failry cheap as well as Nitto Terra Grapplers... can you tell we are tire shopping? LOL with 4 trucks we are always tire shopping.....expensive hobby!!
 






Why don't you ask this guy if the procomps work well?....

sts are lame, heard enough about them a while ago and hardly see them anymore and there is a lot of big and offroad trucks around here.

I've heard STS have sidewall bulge and failure all the time.

as for 15lbs, you can drop those down to 10 for the sand no problem. When we hit the dunes in glamis even in our powerstrokes pulling campers we drop the pressure down to 10lbs to get moving or else it's just sinking.

If I was trying to answer that question it would be what tire works best at street pressure (not sure if you're 4x4) and then if I got in a sticky situation or was going to be spending a bunch of time out in the sand then I would air down.
 






I was very surprised how well the BFG AT Ko's worked in the Glamis sand dunes..


we ran ours down at 8/9 psi on our 32x11.50's on 15" rims..
