i have these now, 32x11.5", so far they have been pretty good. although I am most likely going to try an sipe them before winter to improve ice/wet traction and add to the life. Ive had them for 8k miles and the tread wear is noticable but not significant. so far the road noise is a lot less than i initially expected but still slightly more than my goodyear wranglers were. They can be a little slippery on wet pavement, but siping so should fix that too. I have used them in several muddy situations and they have always been great! I would recommend them.

Sipe? what is that?

you can cut 1/4" deep horizontal slits in the center lugs and it improves traction by giving the tire more grip and improves longevity by dissipating heat better.

can't say i have ever heard of that. that can't be good.

its not required that you do it but a lot of people choose to because it adds life and improves traction. Otherwise they can get slippery in the winter. And this is true with all mud terrain tires not just BFGs. you could do it yourself or pay a tire shop like $10 a tire to do it.

i had my BFG ATs for 2 weeks before siping and it makes a BIG difference...cost me $10/tire.

strange. but hey if it works. i won't be running them in the snow so that isn't a problem. i will have snow tires for that. just looking to get prepaired for the spring. if i can get them now i am going to.

I got the 32x11.5 MT T/A KM on my X. i've tested them in the mud, water (fully in the water), snow, ice and the regular road conditions. i was very impressed with them and although you don't get tons of miles out of them, i would get another pair of them.

Sipe? Isn't he the lead singer for REM? ;)
(yeah, Stipe I know.. work with me :p)

I've heard of people doing that and/or carving up big tires, but didnt realize it had that benefit for >31s...

I called JackWilliams Tire Co., who have been good to me on inspections/tires/brakes and they had heard of siping, but say that comes from the manufacturer, and that they hadn't heard anyone that does that type of thing locally... they did say Michellin does have tires with that come with the treatment though.

Guess I'll have to make a few more calls. $10/per isnt bad if possible.

if your sig is still right and you have the AT KO's then you aren't supposed to need them siped because they have so much siping in the tread anyway.

i have 2 AT KOs and 2 AT T/As(pre-KO). they were pretty sweet to start but the sipe does make a difference. i got mine ATKOs at discount tire and they are the ones that siped all 4.

I have 33x12.5s KMs. They are one year old. I am happy with them in mud and snow and gravel. I was not to impressed with them in sand, to much traction. I would but them again. I do not think they are quite as good a Goodyear MTRs, but they are about $30 apeice cheaper.
