I have a 2000 XLT, and am seriosuly thinking about putting the 4" trailmaster lift on it. I am new to off roading and my question is that is it necessary to get larger tires w/ the lift? And if anybody knows aut how much it is to get the lift installed I would appreciate that too.

it isnt NECESSARY to get larger tires but if you dont imho it will look very dorky......

i was unaware that a lift for the 2000 in a 4" was even available.....

Hello and welcome.

the TM lift is $560 installaled at 4 wheel parts with alignment or you could possibly do it yourself. A few have already done so. And yes with stock tires it would look kinda dorky. As a new guy I would focus on protection and recovery. get a class III tube hitch, install 2 tow hooks in the front and get a tow strap with no metal hooks. Disconnect the sway bars.... air down and you can get around pretty good stock. However if you lift why not go tall and wide.... 33x12.5? More grip and it just looks so much better......
