Blinking O/D llight.

Have a blinking o/d light on my explorer and is intermittent not changing shifting or overdrive at all but down shifting alittle hard . Any thoughts please think for me.

Welcome to this forum! You have a stored code for the transmission which needs to be read.

The blinking OD light puts the truck in 'limp' mode which will cause hard shifting which is not good for the trans. Get the code pulled to see what it says and have the codes reset. My OD light on my 95 comes on about once a year, I pull codes, get nothing and reset it and I'm good to go.
