I decided that I will be going with a square driveshaft for the front. It's not like we have snow down in GA anyways where I'd need a balanced front driveshaft for 4wd. ;) Also, I decided today that I'm not gonna go with hi-steer right now. I'm just gonna go with some 1.5 x .25 wall DOM steering links using tube inserts, and 3/4" heim joints (like Daemon did ;)) Last but not least, I'm gonna try and tackle the regear myself. I really want to learn how, it doesn't seem too hard if you have the right tools, lots of research, and obviously patience.

So do I LOL. I am going to be cutting it EXTREMELY close! I drive my truck as little as possible right now, try not to buy fast food, etc and any other thing to save a little money. I think the lack of these things now will pay off for me once it's all done. :)

Finished turning the passenger side rotor today at school. I now know how to use a brake lathe. :D The other one will be finished on Wednesday. Also, I got my Myer's Machine coil seats today. One word...BEEFY! These things are VERY strong. So far it looks like money well spent. :)

Hey i dont know if this even is a problem for you. But i used EB radius arms and BB coil cups and the holes are different so i mounted one and re drilled the other. I have 2 sets of BB arms 1 set of EB arms and thier is a diff. In the coil seat hole spacing.

I had both of the stock R/A's on the axle already when I got it, so that matched up fine. When I was ordering the last set :D of coil seats, he told me that if I wanted the holes drilled for it, let him know and he'd do it. I told him I wanted it to mount just like my 77 f150 axle and he did just that. I checked just now and the holes line up with the old ones from the stock coil seats.

I've had a change in plans for the wheels. I want a clean looking truck, with nice wheels, but definitely don't want chrome. It just wouldn't look right when they are the ONLY thing chrome on mine. I still want black wheels though. So I was looking in a mag. today and saw the Moto Metal 951's. I've got some friends who've seen them on a few lifted Excursions, and they said they look badass. They currently aren't made in a 15x8 or 15x9, but they are in a 16x9.

I also saw that Maxxis came out with a Trepador, but the new one is a radial and comes in a 37x12.50r16. Also, the Creepy Crawlers come in a 37x12.50r16. So I think those are going to be my two choices in tires.

I'm pushing my goal for the completion to about Christmas or later. I really want to do this right and don't wanna finish it at Thanksgiving just for the sake of saying it's under there now.

I've pretty much decided on those Trepador Radials and the Moto Metal wheels. I think they'll be a badass combo.

I went to the pull-a-part today, expecting to get off the D44 TTB rotors, to use in the rear, and of course the person who tried to do it previously messed up all the stuff to get it off. So I wasn't able to get those. On the bright side, I am ordering my coil buckets, some more seals, and some other things this coming Friday. :D

I've also decided on getting an ARB for the rear. I will run the mini spool temporarily, but will then buy the ARB with some of the money I'm making off of the Skyjacker lift, tires, wheels, axles, etc. I've already got people claimed for about 400 bucks worth of stuff and that isn't even including the 8.8 that I can sell in a heartbeat on local Jeep forums. :D For one, I don't wanna be spinning the tires all the time going around turns, and two, I sure as hell don't wanna ruin those awesome Maxxis tires. :D So an ARB will be in my near(hopefully) future. The front will get one as well, down the road.

get the comp trepadors they are ten times better with sidewall protection

That's going look kick a$$ with those black rims. Yea, no need to rush. I'm waiting patiently on the sidelines to see this thru. Personaly, I like to see the mods. people make along the way. That just adds icing on the cake.

Who sells Comp Trepadors. Like the idea about sidewall prot.

I bet the competition Trep's would be better offroad, but I'm also pretty sure that they are softer compound and they are also radials. I wouldn't mind this if it was full time trail rig, but at this time it can't be. It will be a daily driver/trail rig/show truck for a little bit. :D Once I can get either a Mustang or an F250, this one will be trail/show.

I like the rims.. I was thinking about them but a little high on the cash side of my already capped sas.. Im jealous :fire:

The real reason I chose those is because I wanted a clean, "show truck" kind of look, but still be black and look awesome on my truck. I wanted 16s because the more side wall the better (well, the less rim to possibly scratch, the better. ;)) I'm jealous of my buddy's Avalanche w/ 38s, 20s, 4k watt system, custom Magnaflow out the lower 1/4s, etc. Basically, a fully built show rig (over 20k invested for a 17 year old's truck?!?! ) Just want a clean looking truck since it will be a DD for atleast 6 months after the SAS (got big plans for subs, screens, box, etc :D)

That's awesome Savage. You need to get a digi cam and start getting some pics off all of this stuff. Especially some more of that sexy 5.0 under the hood. :D

Red Ranger, like I said, it's gonna be a DD for a while. It will still be at Tellico, Beasley Knob, and River Rock (all fairly tough places) and it's not being built for a streeter. Even when/if it becomes a full trail rig, it won't be a beater. I'm building this thing to be NICE on the trail, as well as inside. It will get a cage and 5.0 soon after the interior gets redone. I forgot to mention this, but at the same time as the audio is getting done, I'm getting Hunsaker seats w/ harnesses. From the outside, it will look like a highly built offroad Explorer, but the interior will be nice and clean. Hey, I coulda said I was getting 20s with some 37" street tires.

I'll get around to pics sometime... not soon though, still have a few projects in mind for the truck before I want to show it off right now the engine bay is still a mess (wires and stuff everywhere)

This is coming along nice. You mentioned Hunsaker seats. I never heard of them. You obviously like them. I'm looking for some seats that will be comfortable and support my bad back. I want a racing style seat but not spend a fourtane. I see seat that cost up to $5oo. Way to much for me. If you don't mind what do they cost?

If you look in my Elite Registry thread, you'll see a link to their site. I heard about them through some Jeepers. I'd prefer the Mastercraft Rubicon seats, but since they cost about 350 per seat, that's definitely a no go. The Hunsaker seats are 360 shipped to your door. I've heard they are comfortable, and the picture of them agrees with what I've heard. :D

I was going to get these, but then realized that it had "Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wear Patches" There certainly won't be any carbon fiber in my rig. ;)

So then I found these. They'll match my neoprene seat covers which will stay on the stock buckets when I move them to the rear. So it should look great. Here's a link:

Let me know if you want need any more info on them that you can't find on their site. :)
