Both of my backseat door windows bounce around when rolling down/up (drivers side more-so than passenger).

I'm sure this can't be good on the mechanics of the unit, and probably stresses the motor a little more..

Anyone else's trac do this? Anyone know of a good fix?

Pretty common on the ST rear windows. Clean out the felt channels and
lubricate with silicone spray using the tube. Seems to lessen the chatter.

Thanks SWS - I had originally just lubed the entire window, thinking the rubber seal at the bottom was catching on it somehow.. Silly me :D

I'll test this out today/tomorrow, and report back!

my front driver window does this when i roll it down but then if i roll it up just a little bit or at all it stops... so I end up rolling it down then back up a little to crack it and avoid noise if that makes sense...

not to hijack or anything :D

Well, I took the air compressor/blower attachment and blew out the channels of all 5 windows, and the sunroof - and also put some wdferdy with the tube down into the channels. Lots of sand/dirt was visible as I was blowing it out - and now after a few window up/downs, the chatter in the rear is less, and I can't really hear the rear window going up or down :)

thanks for the suggestion!

If I get time tomorrow, I'll probably take a q-tip to the channels to really clean them good.

Just the thought of replacing a window regulator/motor makes me cringe.
Door lock actuators, latches, or handles are bad enough. Well done bro.

On my '96 explorer, the drivers window was super intermittent. When winter would roll around, the window would start working. Then, about mid way through summer, it would stop.. lol.

I never replaced it, just always had to open the door when picking my food through the drive-through late in the summer lol

Mine has the same problem, lol I cleaned Chanel's with soap and water and after they dryed, I use a q-tip and applyed marine grease for boats at the edge of track, after rolling windows up and downed problem solved.
