Hey guys, long time since i've posted here,

Was helping a friend on his jeep , and came across a torx bolt that would not come out, after so looking at it, i found that the torx head was stripped, so friend drilled into it, and then placed a bolt extractor in it, long story short, that darn extractor broke off in the torx head....

Does anybody have an idea on how to get this out, you dont' have enough room to get pillars, vice grips, etc on the broked part? And no drill bit I or he has, have can every make a dint in it either

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Where is this bolt?
Windshield hinge?
Its not an uncommon problem with Jeeps and I've read about the same thing happening. Try a search on www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums

yep windshield hinge...

but looked and searched all over that board, and came up with nothing :(

You'll need a carbide drill bit to remove the easyout. You can buy small carbide tipped masonry bits fairly cheap. Low RPM's, and keep some cutting oil on it.

There was a hubub about someone breaking a bolt in the intake manifold here.... the real fix it was reverse drill bits. Nothing worked but the reverse bits, I believe.

Yes many like snap on often call them left handed drill bits. They are a life saver
