Boomin's getting a sex change

well found one problem. One side of my upper CA on the drivers side seems liek the bushing is gone. I can wiggle it in its mount and the bolt never moves. Yeah well my bearing seal is trashed (grease leaks out pass side). Considering my left fog light is still full of water im guessing It got when when I was wheeling 2 weeks ago. I just need to get this thing to friday and I am good. That starts my week vacation off work and I plan on workign on my truck for the first part

Hey me too!
The working on the truck part.....mud = no good. Still fixing problems from that little adventure :) hahaha some more waterproofing is in order for me.....

hey chris you know who to call if you need some help

what do you mean by swap the torsion bars to get aditional lift wiht stock bolts? i got about 2 1/2" from mine just the way they where.. i am now running 3" spindles wiht 3" bodylift... will be doing soa conversion next week... can i get more out of my torsion bars? by fliping them? is so how do i do it?

you can use stiffer bars or longer bolts to get more lift up front. Any more lift than 3''s by TT is going to bind your lower control arm against the spindle. Also it will through the camber really negitive

What I am doing this weekend.....
-new upper and lower ball joints (uppers are IN warrenty)
-new inner/outer bearings and wheel seals
-maybe some new shock mounts for the rear
-If i get bored enough some underbody painting

wont the new uppers be just like the old ones and bind though because of the angle they are put at from the TT?

boomin.... i'm not trying to sound mean at all when i say this, so please don't take it the wrong way. you obviously care a lot about your explorer, and it seems that you really want it to be something special, but why wouldn't you just do a SAS, and make this into a very capable off-road machine? for the amount of time (and probably money) that you are putting into it, you could have something that both looks as good, and function better off road. just my 2 cents, but either way you have a very nice looking truck. todd.

lifetime warrenty from autozone. I plan on getting some uniballs but right now with school and everything I can't afford it.

EDIT: I forgot I also lowered the front to about a 2.5'' TT which gives me no problems.

Todd, I would do a sas but I want to be able to return my truck back to stock without too much work. I have been thinking about trading it in for a little bit now but will only trade it in for 1 car, a Mach 1. I think I'll probibly keep it another year at least and then re evaluate my money situation and go from there.

Now why in the world would you trade the truck in for a Mach 1 when you built it this is way for purpose of slowing you down?

Boomin's first thread after getting the Mach I.

"Hi. I have an '06 Mach I and I was wondering if anyone has ever done a four cylinder conversion. I have a lot of experience with truck suspension, but nothing in the I-4 area. Thanks!"

That's exactly what I was thinking!

Actually guys I have learned ALOT from this whole experiance and I have slowed down alot. I drove my friends 05 roush around the city and he even told me to get on it and I was hesitant. I also have exactly 11 months of good behavior left and thats when I would get one haha. I also am starting a new job in october that will triple what I make a radio shack so I will have the funds with ease to do so. Just dont worry, the truck isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

well this is getting annoying. I think the vibrations are worse after all 4 new ball joints and new wheel bearings. I am going to change both tie rod ends next and see where that goes. I am also going to do the rear u-joint, eventhough there is no play in it.

BTW the old lowers had ALOT of play. I am surprised it drove as good as it did.

Or....

"Got my lisence taken away AGAIN. I was doing 130 in a school zone. I think he singled me out"

hey boomin what kind of lower BJ's did you get because i need some new ones, ive heard that moog are the best but ive had moogs for about 7 months and already have gone through them

Moog have a lifetime warranty.. so take them back, and have them replaced.

When I replaced mine a few months ago I bought them off of ebay. Moog they were at least 2 of them and all 4 had grease fittings.. they seem to be fine so far. and much lower than store price..

ok, i dont mind how much they are i just want a ball joint that will work and not bind, good thing i can take them back though
