Brake Booster Problems

I have a 94/V6 and I have had 2 Brake Boosters go bad in a 10 month period. Ok the first one was the original no big deal, but after replacing it the new one went after 10 months. both as I was coming to a stop the pedal just went right to the floor. Now I worry about it going bad while family is with me or at higher speeds and needing to stop suddenly. Anyone have any ideas of what is causing this? Maybe need a better Quality one or do you think it was just a fluke?

Are you sure it's the booster, and not the master cylinder? If you do think it's the booster, check the vacuum lines.

If the pedal goes to the floor you bottomed out the master cylinder most likely, or blew a caliper/wheel cylinder or line (that would usually be a loss of fluid as well)

Typically if the booster holds vacuum, it's still working.
Your brakes should work fine een if the booster fails, jsut manually with more leg required.

Yeah, to the floor means leaks or master bypassing.......I have had a bypass but it is rare

Hmmm. never lost a drop of brake fluid, that was the first thing I checked..both times I replaced the brake booster the problem was solved. (well at least was solved for a 10 monrh period) damn I'm stumped...

No back brakes

Well at first the pedal felt weired and i now relized that i have no rear brakes at all jack it us and the rears spin free, but the front brakes work fine.

You won't necessarily lose fluid when the master cylinder goes bad. Obviously, you will lose fluid if you have a leak in the system such as a line, wheel cylinder, or caliper.
