OK the clip that hooks the wire to the pedal is gone.

I have to use zip ties on the wire to get the brake lights to come on.

But it only lasts so long before the ties weaken.

Can I buy the clips separate or would it be better if I just buy the whole kit ?

You mean the male connector that holds the wire to the brake switch is gone? Looks like a speaker terminal?

I would solder a new one on there, or solder the wire directly to the switch.....dont expect zip ties to hold a wire on a terminal

The wire isn't broken from the switch itself.

It just hangs loose behind the brake pedal.

I can pull the wire with my hand and I will get rear brake lights.

But since it's not connected to the pedal it can't pull the switch to engage the lights when I press it.

So I just simply use zip ties or some Gorilla Tape (the best) to attach the wire to the pedal.

But it has to be redone every few days.

I never messed with a issue like this so it's hard for me to explain it.

But here I'm showing the wire as red.

weird

pulling on the wire is not what activates the brake lights, the switch sends electricity through the wires to activate th ebrake lights

I suspect you need to clean or replace your switch.
Pulling on the wire = brake lights, thats just weird but it does point to a loose connection.
You say the wire is just hanging there? something is fishy I will leave this one for those more familiar with the 94 truck setup

Well the switch that has the wire plugged into it can move.

It doesn't even need the wire hooked up to it.

I can press the switch down and the lights will turn on.

I assumed that the brake pedal when pressed pulls the wire causing the switch to pull also.

Maybe it some kind of cheap fix I'm doing and the switch is just simply worn out.

But I plan to pick a new one up soon.

Well I put a new swithch on and now the lights turn on with pretty much no effort.

I looked at the faulty one and it seems to look intact, but I guess the spring just worn out is my best guess.

Thaks anyway.
