My 02 has recently developed a nasty vibration / pulsation when the brakes are applied. Thinking it might have been the rotors I replaced the front pads and rotors (due anyway) and it didn't help anything. While I had the front end in the air I checked the tires with hands on the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions and there was no play in them. Both front hubs have been replaced within the last few months also.
The vibration is only upon braking and is definitely coming from the front end. I can feel it up there and hear something clunking around but I can't find anything broken / loose. Upon braking the vehicle doesn't pull to one side or the other. Any suggestions on what to check out next?
I guess the good news of the day is when I replaced the lower oil pan gasket there were no big chunks of plastic in there. Guess I need to figure out what's rattling around now as I had been thinking it was the timing chains.
