Broken main leaf

I broke my passenger side main leaf spring today on a forestry road. My leaves are original and very tired (flat) I can probably locate cheap used springs but am wondering if I am wasting my time to put 20 year springs into my truck. Mine is a sport so it uses 2 plus an overload. I was thinking of sourcing a 4 door (new) pack which is the 3 plus overload if I am correct. Locally they are about $420 for a new set.

I did some searching and it seems the 80s f150s leaves will work but I am having trouble locating a 'new' set. Any other thoughts or suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I'm cheap so I'd find used ones. I put the 4 door explorer springs on my 87 ranger, I cut the eyes off the ranger main spring and laced the 2 sets of springs together.

My banker has shut down my plans for new springs, a friend is giving me used ranger leaves which I will do much the same with. The sad thing about this I had spare leaves to add to my pack but hadn't gotten around to upgrading it. I guess my saggy ass just got pushed to top priority.

My leaves are looking pretty sad again. Gonna start looking again for options. Do any other leaf packs swap in? Maybe Chevy or something else that is easy to locate...

Lace ranger leafs in with the explorer. The ranger main, cut the eyes off.

Old Man Emu springs work very well on the 1st gen. I am not sure if they are still available though, it's been quite awhile since I heard about anyone installing a set.

i thought X leaves were stiffer and a ranger upgrade? please correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt another X pack be better then? i thought people interlaced f150 leaves not ranger?

Depends on how stiff you want the ride. Explorer is 1100 or so lbs and the ranger is in the 800 range. So adding the ranger main alone to the Explorer pack will result in a pretty stiff ride
