we need a better description than the "side thingy" maby the wire is preventing it from going in

lol yea im having a hard time describing it maybe i should take some pics. Any one know a good place to host some pics?

im assuming thats the trim piece that covers the wire channel. look on the underside of the trim piece. there should be some metal retaining clips. maybe you bent one. try to bend it back to make sure it is perpendicular to the trim piece. also, when placing the trim back on, make sure the retaining clips snap into the groove on the wiring channel.

hit it, smack it, stomp it:

if the does not work:

hit it, smack it, stomp it harder!!!:D

PS do not break it, or you will have to buy it.

Sorry LOL, what size wire are you running?

i ran mine up the A piller to the roof and back down, b/c some ass (me) ran wire there already.

use a hammer & wooden block or if you have a rubber mallet use that to secure it back in place.

Did you run the wire inside the cage? If so, you can rule out the wire as a cause. I'd just make sure everything is lined up and hit it with a rubber mallet. When I was running some wire for my sub, I remember having a little trouble geting that piece back on too.

I've got 4 strobe cables and an amp wire running under mine. It will fit, just make sure that the tabs on the trim piece are lined up with the holes on the floor and push away.

It is called a " Sill Plate "

Those things just push on.
I would move the power cable over under the carpet.
Sill plates tend to be pretty selfish with their space.

Its 4 gauge wire and its not under the cage its under the carpet. Im guessing ill try with a rubber mallot tomorrow.

put it in the cage. if its in the way of the sill, theres no way in hell it will snap in without breaking. i ran my 4 ga wire in there with no problems. just pry up the black "cover" to the cage (if u look at it, youll know what im talkin bout) with a flathead screwdriver. and, like i said before, make sure the metal tabs are lined up with the slots on the wire cage, and will just snap in very easily.
