Planning to put an Optima battery on my 96 5.0L Limited. What are the lengths of the OE positive and negative cables?

It appears I will need to have each cable 3" longer than OE to accomodate the Optima's smaller footprint and terminal widths. Is there a longer OE high quality cable available? Thanks! Mike

My stockers were long enough for my Optima, even after they were each shortened by about 2" for corrosion.

My Stockers were long enough, But I replaced the negative cable with a thicker one for my added onboard electronics.

Hmmm....maybe I should disconnect them and see if there is any slack. Could not get any slack pulling on them when connected. Thanks. Mike

you may also find the Optima fits nicely in the battery tray on its side, allowing you more slack in the cables. Just make sure you have clearance around the + terminal........ :)
