Hi everyone. I replaced my instrument cluster today since it was giving me problems on the speedometer. I had already replace the speedo sensor and that didn't worked. I transferred my odometer to my new cluster using "1998Exploder" tread http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203189&highlight=cluster+2001 well my problem was getting the needles to mark the correct speed since instead of marking zero it was staying on 30 miles wen stooped.
The solution. I place the cluster on the car without the cover and the needle, hoked everything on the back then turned on the car. I removed the needle keeper placed the needle ten miles below the needle keeper hole (eye ball it) went to the radar near my home when I got the right speed. I put the needle up and the needle keeper back in its place. Of course you can repeat this steps to get a more accurate MPH.
update: I removed the needle keeper placed the needle ten miles below the needle keeper hole (eye ball it) went to the radar near my home when I got the right speed I put the needle up and the needle keeper back in its place
hope this helps.
