Just figured I would let you guys know I have just purchased the Camburg front lift kit and deaver springs for the explorer. I am leaving this saturday for new york. The kit will arrive either next monday or tuesday. It will be installed probably next day (i am having a shop do it for me seeing as how I don't have to much longer until school starts i need to have this done quick and professional) I am also spray on bedlining the gray cladding. I already have a roof rack and 4 6" lights on it, as well as the go rhino brush guard. I am getting black rockcrawler rims and 33x12.50x15 procomp all terrains. It should look preety sick. The shop I'm having it done at is preety excited about all of this as well. It is the first Camburg kit they have ever installed. Will definately be posting pics of it as soon as i get back. I am also having a flowmaster 40 series installed with dual pipes. Can not wait to have this thing finished.

sounds real cool. which camburg kit? entry level, performance, or full long travel? either way, this should be a great upgrade.

It is just the entry level kit. I don't plan on using this much offroad. It will probably see some light mud every once in a while. Im planning on rebuilding an old '86 CJ for my dedicated trail vehicle. I know it will be a heep but I just can't afford to do the SAS to my explorer. That and it will already will be 4wd. Thank ya'll all for the comments. Glad to see the support.

ya you'll like that kit..are you just using the bilstein 5100's that come with the kit or are you using something different...?

I don't mean to pry, but you mentioned your a student. How do you manage to afford all these mods? Everything you mentioned has to be a few G's worth of stuff.

entry level camburg system is $1500

plus cost of wheels and tires and cost and installation of flowamster 40 with duals = $$$$

true, so figure 400 for wheels, 600 for tires max (getting no deals), and the install of the duals is probly arond 500 so overall ballparking 3000, thats not too bad, a decent paying job can get him that no problem

lol. Yeah i work here in athens for two men and a truck moving company i just got back home from a move and i got 11 hours just today. This whole summer job has just been for the explorer. I am also getting a few deals with the local shop here just because its the first camburg kit they have used.
white96x- Yes I am using the bilstein 5100's for my shocks. Not enough money for anything better than that.

Your forgetting the cost of the deaver's....yes the entry kit is 1500 for parts that doesn't include any labor same goes for the deaver springs which probably ran you 5-600 not including installation....i know cause i'm running the same kit, with a little upgrade to the camburg front..

Well i just got back from New York yesterday. The guys have finished up the front end and it looks amazing. The springs got shipped later they are supposed to arrive tuesday. They should finish it on tuesday. After that is done im taking it to the exhaust shop to have the dual pipes put in. I have some pics of the front end done. I'll post those as soon as i find the cable for my camera.

Pics!!!

Here they are finally. It is finished!!!!

Pics!!!

Thats pretty sick.

ya nice truck...you're gonna love that kit

Just driving it around today was a blast. That kit smooths out every bump in the road. Definately worth the money. Its off to the exhaust shop tommorow. Just with the muffler it sounds bad ass. Glad ya'll like it.

looks good, the deavers are a little stiff on the road but are an amazing spring offroad, you will be very happy with that set up once you get it off the street

Thanks Dave. Just driving it around town and everything has been fun. This is one of the few lifted explorers in Athens. They are gonna have a field day though when Robbie gets down here with his SAS'd sport.

Great looking truck

So, what's going on with the nerf bar mounts? You going to do sliders or ???

now if Camburg would just produce their 4x4 kit that they have talked about for 2 years now....it was to be released summer 06 last I heard from them.

Currently only Dixon Bro's makes a 4x4 kit for our Gen II's
Mcneil and Camburg are claimed to be working on it.

Nice truck!! makes me want a 2wd, until it snows anyways...
