I just noticed that the backup camera washer jet isn't spraying washer fluid. Has anyone dealt with this? I'd like to understand the issue before I bring it in for warranty work.

Also, does the front camera have a washer jet too?

You should be able to tell if the front has a washer by just looking at it. My Platinum has both front and rear washers. The front camera washer comes on when you activate the windshield washers just like the rear one works when the rear wind washer is activated.

Keep in mind that it might take a few seconds for the rear washers to begin working--they sort of need to 'prime,' especially if used infrequently. They tend to lose pressure and air gets in the lines at the rear end. Takes a few moments to re-pressurize.

Also check under the hood near the passenger side strut tower to make sure the connection to the rear is still sound. Is the rear window wash itself working, just not the camera?

I've tried for 10 seconds or so but no washer juice from the backup camera jet.

Is the front working, assuming you have one?

I confirmed, yes my 2017 Explorer Sport has a front facing camera as well as a functioning washer jet.
When you tried the rear one did the nozzle for the rear window work? Since both work with the same switch I'm guessing they use the same line to the back before splitting to each nozzle.

The rear window washer jet works properly.

Guessing there might be some blockage in the line for the camera washer.

I haven't had any problems with mine -- front or rear. Including a bunch of ski trips with lots of challenging gunk. Given that you are in Toronto (with freezing winters and road salt), just want to rule out the possibility you didn't skimp out on a good washer fluid. Like say putting in plain tap water would likely cause problems.

take a push pin or something similar/thin and see if the nozzle is clear... or just let the dealer. I would imagine with the possible build-up from the washer and road spray it could get clogged.

I’m also curious about an update. Was it frozen? Clogged?

I haven't had a chance to bring it to the dealership yet to have it addressed but I did talk to a friend who's a Ford technician. He said that it's likely a disconnected hose or a broken "T" fitting in the line.

Those are possibilities but I would think that you'd likely have water running out somewhere in those cases.:dunno:

There could be some irony between the OP's name and his problem... ;)

I'm reporting back. The rear camera washer has mysteriously started working again. Now that I think about it, I beleive it stopped working after a car wash. It's been cold, so I'm thinking that ice was blocking the jet

This is a common problem. I have had mine "fixed" many times and right now it is not working.

If there is a break, the pump cant prime so it isnt going to go anywhere

If that was the case then the window washers also would not work. When you activate the camera washer the associated window washer also come on.
