2004 xlt
I have a2004 xlt with the audiophile system. I tried to hook up an alpine mono amp and jl sub using a line converter. I tried tapping off one of the rear door speakers and I can't get a good signal. It sounds terrible. I left the factory sub hooked up and attempted to add the alpine amp using the line converter. I even swapped out the amp with a brand new one and I got the same results. Can anyone help? i WOULD SURE APPRECIATE IT.

Is there a way to use the signal going to the stock sub amp?
If you have a volt meter maybe you could identify which wires are power, remote power, ground, signal, and signal ground, then splice off those for remote power and 2 signal? worth a shot

I forgot to mention that. I started by hooking it up there first. I got the same result. Thanks anyway.

what are your settings on the line converter you might have to turn is way down in arder to get a clean signal but that will take your overall voltage down reducing the capabilty to bump you might consider a new hu and forget the lin converter

I guess that might be my only alternative. I really like the 6 disc changer in the dash.

well i found the answer to my question. I need a line converter that also boosts the voltage. I found one made by soundgate. It costs 110 bucks. Replacing the head unit sounds like the best option. Thanks everyone.
