can i mix atf?

i put mobile one synthetic in my transfer case on my 98 sport auto tranny and didnt change my tranny fliud. is the synthetic mixing with the atf from the tranny or are they totally separate and dont share fluid, in which case i should be ok. thanks

they are separate entities, they do not share fluid.

You should be fine.

The transmission takes Mercon V which is just about the same as synthetic, the gap is little. Regards,
