Guys, this is why I start this thread 6 MONTHS in advance. I don't know what the hell kind of jobs you guys work at that you can't request a weekend off, but here in Maryland they have these things called "sick days" and "vacation time". Birthdays, funerals, weddings and being deathly ill are about the only reasons I can think of NOT to go to Carlisle. There's plenty of time to save up for it, even if you only put away $5 a week. Otherwise it's all just excuses.

the way we work is since were open every other weekend that you should plan your life acordingly.

charlie (my boss) can be a hard ass at times, but i dont think hell keep me from carlile, esp since it aint something i can just do another weekend

just out of curiosity how much does going to both usually cost (plus getting some goodies at the show)

trying to budget

I can tell ya what I usually spend, your schedule will probably vary from mine though:

Gas to the show, 4wheeling and back to Harford County, Md (for one truck, assuming $2/gallon): $50

Showfield registration (which includes 2 tickets for admission and all 3 days of the event): $40

Hilton Hotle w/ the Mach crew (split probably 6 ways?) $161/night divided: $25-30

Pine Grove Hotle (split again, probably 5 ways) $62/night divided: $12-15

Admission to Rausch Creek: $35 unless you've never been there before, then there will be a $10 registration fee on top of that :p:

Food and knick knacks: $40

So yeah, it IS expensive. Guess I average about $200 every year, more if I bring both of my trucks  This is why I start the thread SOOOOOOO far in advance, because it involves a bit of saving up- especially in these economically challenged days. Well, that and the hotels are generally booked full by February!

okay in that case I'm definitely going so count me in on sharing a room :D

....guess I average about $200 every year...

Dang....wish it was that cheap for me...I'll bet I've got close to $1k into it every year...If I don't buy any car parts while I'm there....

GOOD LORDY!!! Well, I can see it what with having 3 mouths to feed and a hotle room for 3 days, but still..! Oh hey, where and when is the dinner for the Mach crew this year? I don't wanna miss it again, although the speculation over the whereabouts of Jake's sweet potato during the Exploder dinner was pretty amusing last time :D

2-Stripe, not a problem! They're REALLY nice rooms, too :)

Don't have a location on the dinner yet. I'll let you know. Most likely it's Saturday night again. Thursday dinner is usually at Hooters or the free dinner at the hotel and the bbq on Friday night at the hotel has become a yearly event.

Yeah, I likes the bbq bash on Friday night, especially when Sue makes teh cookies :D I say we add another annual event: the Ben toss. We should all take turns throwing him into the pool!

Bigred, Me and the new Wife will be there of coarse.

Hopefully, I'll actually have an exhaust and some new paint, lol. We shall see, come on lottery.

Draper, there better be no disappointment in the Mach 1 burn out this year, I won't have any of it. :burnout:

Might be in.
Need engine and transfercase in by then and I'll do it. When is the cut-off date for signups to show?

There's no cut off for registration or just attending the show, but I only reserved one hotel room and it's looking pretty full right now.

I'm a maybe at this point.. Money is very tight.. tighter than its ever been.. :(

when are you guys staying at the hotel? Which nights? I'll prob. Be down for wheeling too . & what's the number for the hotel you're staying at? I'll call this week once I find who all is coming with me and try to get a seperate room.

edit: nvmd read a little bit better. (Bear with me, got only a couple days to figure this all out so I'm in stress mode)

- I never been to Carlisle before, so I have no idea how to register, where to go, blah blah blah so I was hoping to head over there with someone else when they register or whatever so I don't get lost and confused :)
- It's gonna be me and my one buddy going, if there's room for 2 more people in a room I'll be happy to split cost. Promise we won't snore, bite, or get reckless.
- I'll also be going to Rausch Creek that Sunday so if someone has a room at Pine Grove with room for 2, again I'll be happy to split cost and we wont snore, bite too hard, or get reckless.
