well here are some pics off the damage i was greated with when tearing down my recently blown motor. Not pretty. I am planning on rebuilding it, boreing it to the next size and getting new pistons and rings. Does anyone make Forged pistons for our 4.0's? i would like to use forged incase i somehow get money and act on my impulse to slap a turbo on this thing sometime in the future. Any suggestions would be great on things to do while i am rebuilding this motor are greatly appreciated. Dead Link Removed

Yes they make forged pistons for the OHV 4.0L, JE pistons I believe, get ready to take out a small load to get a set of six though.........

Oh and SOHC 4.)L has stock forged pistons I believe, they cvan be used in a OHV but not without some work because they will raise the compression to like 14:1 or something like that....not good for boost :)

What you have there is a very common problem resulting from pre-ignition. You may want to test your fuel system and make sure it is working properly.
