Hi again
After 9 years and 69k miles my exhaust was burbling and blowing like a colander! So I set about getting prices for a replacement.
Kwikfit quoted me £220 inc. fitted and National slightly more expensive at £230.
After a little research the cheapest I could find the part to fit myself was around the £125 mark.
I read on a thread that ATS Euromaster were the cheapest so I rang my local branch and was quoted £148 inc. fitted I was not in any rush to spend more money on my Ex as her MOT is not due till Jan 09, but this seemed a very good price so I ordered the part and turned up this morning as planned to have the work done.
The old one was not too bad to get off, however the rear O/S anti rollbar link has to be disconnected in order to route the old pipe through and vise versa with the new one.
All fitted and sealed and when I paid the bill it was a very pleasant £133.63 ( I didn't ask why it was not as quoted)
The exhaust is made by Timax and carries a 2 year guarantee.
No more blowing exhaust, she idles smoother and seems to have more go.
All in all a very pleasant experience which cannot be said for Kwikfit and their problems sealing exhausts.
Hope this helps
Dave
