Well i bought my X in mid October. Its a 99 Sport with only 35,000 miles. I got it at a great price and i love it. When it started to get cold i would start the engine and it would rev to 2500rpm and then stall. i thought it was just because of cold. now, the CEL came on on one of the coldest days last weekend. the truck runs fine all in all, no loss in gas milage, no rough idle, no power loss. seems wierd to have a CEL at only 35,000 miles.

Check engine light

I agree with running the codes. With all running normal, I'm betting that it is the O2 sensor. I have been through several in my F-150.
