On steeper hills, when I start going up I will always lose speed and then the rpms will go up. Like I'll be going 2000, and then at the top Ill be at lik 2700 and I'll lose lik 10 mph. And if I give it more gas the check engine light will come on for a few seconds and then turn off. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad O2 sensor

O2's...exhaust clogged....How sluggish is the reponse when the CEL is on?

:chug:

k, I'll check the o2 sensor. I'm not sure about the power when the CEL comes on because it's only for a few seconds. After the hill it shuts off. It could be be the exhaust, a mechanic that check the truck out said that the exhaust flange on pipe to converter is rusted.

Btw, I also have a rattleing sound under heavy acceleration (over ~2500 rpm's) Comes from under the truck, could that have anything to do with the problem?

The exhaust is a known problem especially in our climate with rusting. My muffler rusted off the cat.

You really have to be descriptive when t-shooting "noises". Is it from the engine or under the passenger seat...etc. There is an issue with a clanging cat heat shield that's only spot welded. Easy check.

Please reply with location and type (ping...tap...etc)

:chug:

You may want to check your air filter also. I was having that same problem. After changing my air filter, the problem was solved. Mine was pretty dirty though.

I had the same problem the light started to come on around the 75,000 mile zone so i change the o2 sensors and the mass air flow pcv valve light still on but truck ran much better so with a little black electrical tape I fixed the light issue.
Good Luck

Any time you change/replace/clean anything involved with the air/fuel/exhaust you should reset the computer. Especially if your CEL was on.
