I just sprayed mine out with wd 40. Check the gasket between the egr valve and positioning sensor. Yours has the internal egr, correct?

It's located on the upper rear manifold.

Anyone ever glass bead the inside of one? and pintle and seat?

Of course wash it out afterwards.

On a 96 V8, Excessive flow code is caused by EGR position sensor, not a clogged valve. Check the sensor and linkage for binding.

In fact, the flow is sensed by the position of this sensor-the PCM has no idea if the valve is clogged or not.

Turdle, thats good info to know. If movement is ok (which it is confirmed with vacuum pump opens with 5"hg) more than liklely sensor?
