I like my chrome wheels looking good, so I clean them often. But, whenever I do it two things happen. One, no matter if I use a polishing cloth or 100% terrycloth towel, I still get lint all over my wheels. Two, after 15 minutes the wheels look all streaky and what not. I used Meguiars HotWheels wheel cleaner. WHAT DO I USE TO GET RID OF THE LINT AND THE STREAKS? Thanks.

Chrome is a mirror finish.
Use windex and a paper towel.
No kidding. I used to go out and get all these expensive chrome polishes and waxes and whatnot. Well my buddy who is in the wheel/tire business (He knows his stuff) told me window cleaner is allthey need. Guess what, he's right! Windex and a paper towel.

I also wax the chrome (Zymol) every once in a while, helps keep them clean and protects them from road grime, but I'm **** when it comes to my truck.......

Hartman, no idea on cleaning the chrome wheels but how are the wheels so far, is there much of a difference in handling or extra road noise.
The wheels look great.

Cartman, so far the wheels are great. The rims chop, but not too much, and the ride is different because of the tires, but that's natural. I have a bit of rubbing to take care of, but that's about it. The ride is sub-par because I'm in absolute need of new shocks, but after that it'll ride great I'm sure.

I would not use windex on anything except windows. It has something that will lift chrome plating. If you spray it on the back of a mirror it will lift the mirror backing. Dont use it on your wheels.
I use Eagle One chrome wheel polish and am happy with it. You might also look at www.aaarims.com as they have a rim polish/coating that sounds good.
If you get some let me know how you like it....

I used Windex and it works great. Wasted $5 on the damn Meguiars "all wheel cleaner".

Bill, do you think Windex is really strong enough to lift triple-chrome plating? If so, I'll switch to Eagle One.

No, I dont know for sure if its strong enough but I'm not gonna use it on my wheels. Wheels cost to much to take a chance.
