WOW, I think the dates we are coming down to are gonna interfere with going to the local Truck Fest, both at bandemere and the 4wheel parts one.

Awww, go wheelin rather than show!
lol

good the trails will be empty!

I thought I was going to be able to make it, but I am back off to Japan the last week of June and won't return until the end of September. I was looking forward to this trip too. :(

We're out.. :( ..due to budget limitations and ALLLLL the work still left to do on the tow rig as well as some on the trail rig (not to mention getting a trailer set up), we are not going to be able to make the CO trip.

We are hoping to have everything ready for a mid-September run to Moab, though.

There are tons of great trails in Colorado to Explorer. How about a big Colorado summer run?[/QUOcome TE]

I will be in the roaring fork valley area testing out my new setup come mid june......

As a side note- The 5.0L awd does great going up the mountain at elavation. I have driven both a 4.0l sohc and a 5.0l at 7000ft to what ever independence pass was at. To maintain a highway speed going up a mountain the v6 was constantly downshifts and at times hits 4-5 k. The 5.0 can hold its speed never hitting 3k. Just driving up upper cattle creek road in el jebel was night and day between the two. Im sure the low range is good for rock crawling but for what I need.... deep snow the 5.0l and awd with bfg at/ko's are more then able to tackle 20+ inches of snow and get me up the mountain never even breaking a sweat. It is why I am going to lift my 98 instead of the 2000 limited with the 4.0l sohc.

I never put a good AT tire on the 2000 4x4 so it is hard to compare to the awd with the bfg At/KO's in deep snow. Plus I love how I can just stomp on the 5.0's gas and the rear end squats as it hooks. I hate how the 4x4 engages in auto mode just seems delayed and feels weird to me. I know I can put it in 4x4 but not on those long highway drives from glenwood to denver.

Just my feelings and experiances...

I'm hoping the exact same thing for myself.
Oh and Independence pass is around 12,060 or12,080.

Cool....... Maybe we can play a game of follow the leader.....

jeeez, talk about a thread just up and dying. LOL
lets get some more talk going here. if there's anything to talk about that hasn't been talked about before

Something to post but not necessarily good

Since the ever rising gas prices and my current lack of employeement I've been trying to figure out just how I can still pull this off.

I still plan to be there :)

So the date is set for July 22nd to the 24th. Is the plan to only wheel on Sat the 23rd? I can't justify driving all the way up there to wheel one day???????

I wont be making it now. There is a Pro-am strongman contest in the 23rd I will be attending.

I still plan to go but am also going to bring/ride my bike (DR350). My brother-in-law may come up with his 4Runner and WR250F. Even if this outing falls apart, I still plan to wheel and ride in Colorado (some time) this summer.
