Hey guys,
The next project I have lined up is a newer center console retrofit (95+ console) into my 94 XLT. I want a more functional console that actually connects to the front dash. How hard is this, and is it possible without MAJOR modification? I plan on putting my existing console in the back seat area when I swap out my rear bench for buckets (I know that requires modification).
Also, is it absolutely nessacary to cut the headliner to put in an overhead console? I have a sunroof so I would get the short style one. The liner seems rigid enough to support it, am I wrong? Please let me know. I didn't plan on modding the Explorer when I bought it, but ever since my dad gave me a set of Mickey Thompson wheels and tires, I just couldn't help myself. It's an addiction like my BMW!
Thanks!
