Converting AWD to 4X4??

I tried to perform a search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I have a 2000 Mountaineer V8 AWD and was wondering if anyone has switched out the transfer case to make the veichle 4x4, giving the ablity to switch to a low and high 4x4 gear.

I could be looking to perform this project soon, so and info would be great

i was wondering if i could do something like that too with my 95 x it has 4 auto and 4 low but would love to have 4 high i heard you can but not to sure
