Coolant leak

I have a 97 explorer 5.0.its leaking coollent from the passanger side rear part of the engine block, it looks like its coming out of what looks like a sensor? its ALOT of coolent. resivour and radiator are completely empty. anyone else have this problem and if so how did you fix it?

It really would help us a lot if we had a picture of the leak --area of leak before making assumptions. It may help to use a stick or something similar as a pointer--
