Hey Al I believe it is open and not screened. A screen could be installed easily enough.

It would help to get some nice colder air to the S/C as well!

Hey John. I like the hood... do you have anything for the 2002-2003 model year. Thanks
Mike

Hey Matt, are looking at that shaker hood for Black Magic? It would look good. Kind of pricey at $750 + install & paint. It could serve as cooling for the supercharger, but would not really add an horsepower. No ram air effect would be possible with our set up. It does look cool though!

i'd be running 255/55/18s on the front which are 91.2 inches in circumferene and then either 305/45/18s which are 90.5 inches in circumference or 285/50/18s which are 91.8 inches in circumference.

by my calculations the 305s and 255s are only 1.007% different from each other while the 285s and 255s are 1.007% different as well. i don't think that 1% difference would be a problem. if it would then you could never replace just one tire if it blew or anything like that without causing damage.

if there is something i'm missing let me know, but i'm virtually certain i'm spot on here.

the big question remains though- will the 305s fit?

Expo5.0, You will be just fine with a 1% difference. 1% difference can be accomplished by just air pressure in the tires. People with lockers will understand very quickly what a difference in tire pressure can and will effect.

We do not have any specific hood upgrades for the 2002 Explorers. But we do carry the Lund Eclipse Hood Scoops. They actualy look pretty good when painted.

By the way, I will try to find out what kind of wheels my Mountaineer budy has. I think it would be hard to find 10" wide wheel with the correct back spacing. The problem is rubbing on the "inner fender/ frame" at the rear. We know the Cobra 18" X 9" will work with the 285/50-18 tires. The Cobra R replica wheels have a 5 15/16" back spacing.

So are you saying that it would work with the S/C? I just wanted to make sure since the lower portion is actually mounted to the motor.

Well Matt, that remains to be seen. I guess I meant that it is possible, but it would not be functional. It would have very little effect, it would be mostly visual. The blower going to be pretty close to the hood. We would have to take a good look at it. Take pictures and measure. It would definately have to be modified. Let's get the supercharger installed first and take it from there. I will be in touch soon.

any chance we could get a group buy on the hoods?

John, is this hood read to mount ( other than paint )? I assume it will use the existing hardware?

Thanks.....

I am thinking the wheels look like ROH Snypers.

I love the look of that mounty!

Yes Al, the hood is ready to mount. Just switch the hardware from your existing hood. The fit of the hood is fine, just finished work required. No more than what you would expect for a fiberglass piece.

I am sorry, no room in the price for a group buy. I priced this hood the best I could.

man that cowl hood is sweet

nice "bump"

hey john, will the cobra r in 18s rub at all with 255/55/18s?
