Hit something on the exhaust that made it go up and it cracked the flange to the header on my 98 X....I've never worked on one before but i've worked on my stang a million times. is the passanger side one a pain to change?....is it worth getting a used OEM one to replace it with or should I just get the ford racing ones...

Also if anyone has this part just layin around please let me know...i'd be more than happy to purchase it and pay for shipping..

Thanks

Section: Did you use the composition header gasket furnished with your FMS headers? I have not been able to find a copper one with the exact port diminsions as the supplied FMS gasket...about 1.25X1.75... Thanks Mike

Yeah, I used the one that came with the headers. Were you not happy with those ones or what?

Section: Some folks said they )furnished composition gaskets) were no good and would eventually leak. Some said the copper gaskets were the best. Good to know yours have not leaked. Did you use a sealant with Your furnished gaskets? Just want to have to do this job once. Thanks Mike

Mike.. I would invest in some of those trick header bolts that Rick made a post about a while ago. Because my biggest problem is those things coming loose. The gaskets seemed to be suprisingly high in quality.

Section: Thanks and you are right. I did buy some of those Stage 8 bolts/retainers...as an investment. Figured if I was going to invest this much, I might as well go all the way. Just thought that gasket might be the weak link. Thank you, Section, for your advice and help. Mike

Hey section do you by chance know the part number from summit?....also....is there anything special i need to do....or is it straight 100% bolt in.....this thing is my daily driver and i need it for work.....i've got stage 8 header bolts in my stang and they've worked well......

do the FMS headers come with gaskets and new bolts??

Also section...how much would you charge for the passanger side one?....looking under the hood looks scary with thoes headers....
Thanks

Matt.. I'll just give you the headers if you really want them. Just pay me whatever shipping would be. There just sitting in the garage now.

Here is the thread about the P headers: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=61256 Again.. I reccomend getting the headers and the install is very easy and straight forward. I picked up some header bolts from my local Kragen because the install is easier with the smaller headed bolts.
