CRLCustoms Bumper Installed! New Pics!

Do I'm aware that you like to use pipe, but do you think this is the answer?
This has winched me out of places, plus with my 3" BL it looks flush

I like tubing because I find it easier to work with. I like things round, not square.

I also like tubing because you can make a bumper of equal or greater strength and it will be significantly lighter than a plate bumper.

I appreciate most any decent custom fab work (bootie fab don't count).

I would never run a front bumper like that. It's probably too heavy for my tastes and I like having an approach angle.

Geez, way to hijack my thread people

;)

Alec, that bumper looks awesome, but I'm glad you live in TX, Jersey cops would be all over that tail light setup, this state sucks

I don't know Alec....if they pull you over, they will nail you with that Dot approval....The lights just aren't big enough....You need the LED lights that are in the rear of Semi trailers...:D

Why? Hot rodders and custom builders use really small lights all the time.

I tested them out last night and the lights that I put in are brighter than stock, at least from directly behind the vehicle. Some LEDs have a narrow viewing angle.

Anyway, I really researched Texas lighting laws before I did this. Basically the laws only rest on visibility of the lights at certain distances from directly behind the vehicle. They say nothing about light size or type.

Maybe I'm just being too optimistic and will get pulled over. I'm just saying I didn't just slap these lights on, I actually did quite a bit of research first.

Just ask a cop the next time you see one. They will give you their honest opionion based on the law ane will let you know if you will be getting pulled over for it or not. That way you don't get a ticket!

It's good that you did research. I suspect though that most Texas cops won't pull you over, maybe only to check out your rig more closely. I like the setup. Great inovators get the most criticism. Good job to you and to Cory for a great looking bumper. I want a front bumper, rear bumper and rock sliders for my 92 4wd sport. :)

How much would that bumper (front or rear) cost a regular guy?, do you have to have the vehicle there to make it??

If Cory already has a general design, then he doesn't need the vehicle to make it.

Just give him a call or email him. His site is www.crlcustoms.com

The general price for the rear bumper is around $350 + shipping, info on his site.

Looks good! I like that brake light system, it is a creative way to solve the problem. If it was me I probably would've just left it til I got pulled over :D

LOL! Ya me too, but I'm known as a trouble maker. :D

Muskrat the rear tire bumper on the Ranger that you mentioned earlier is probably Ken Cooke's... he has a green mid-90's Ranger with a shell on the back, sharp looking.

Alec it looks good, although as was said earlier you'd be fried by the bacon in my home state (CA) or AZ or NM (then again you all have good gun laws :) for that matter... it looks nice though... research as you know definately pays for itself, so at least you're covered.
Overall your truck is one of the nicest, baddest lookin' 2wd's I've ever seen. Keep up the cool mods.

yep that sounds like the truck, That's what I want to do, try to keep some bed space when I make the switch to 35's

Alec, you ever thought about these?

all of these are submersable as well.

Saw all of them. But they're all really big and ugly!

When off, the lights are barely noticable. Also, they were very easy to install and should function reliably for years.

and those would look like a J**P
