Hi, there!

This is my first post here, and I hope this is the correct forum for my problem:

After being in the mountains for skiing I realized that my window washer fluid did not contain any antifreeze and did not work. After the water has melted it still did not work. When pressing the button the wipers move as usual, but there is no sound from the pump.

But that's not all:

On my way home I detected a malfunctioning cruise-control. When pressing the according buttons at the steering-wheel nothing happens. No lights at the panel, no effect at all.

What's up with this? I checked all fuses, they are all okay. I did nothing exceptional with the car except driving in light winter, with temperatures about -5°C.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Cruise Control is ran on a vaccum system. Find your cruise control system (should be on the right I believe) in the engine bay and follow the hoses and see if there are any cracks or anything. On the window washer, I am not too sure about that one - see if you have fluid in it, and also make sure your nossles aren't clogged/frozen. I'm guess -3 degrees celcius is about 25 degrees f....so I'd say if you tried to use it you might of frozen some stuff up. Hope this helps.

Hi, Drew!

Thanks for your reply, concernings the cruise control I will follow your suggestion and check this. Concerning the window washer I have to disagree, as the temperatures are above freezing point again, the fluid is melted and nothing has changed. I do not even hear the pump working when pressing the button.

And one more problem came along, wich cause seems to be from the same origin: The brake-lights are not working, all three lights remain dead, no difference if I turn on the headlights or not. The lights for reverse driving work, the taillights and foglights work as well.

Seems to be a lost cause for me. Will contact my garage tomorrow :(

Thanks again!

I don't have a multi-function switch, but you should check out this thread on multi-function switch. It maybe the cause of your problem(s).
