A bit more detail would be useful... Does it come on but drop out unexpectedly? Does it not come on at all part of the time? When it's on does it work ok?

Intermitting Cruise Control Malfunctions

A bit more detail would be useful... Does it come on but drop out unexpectedly? Does it not come on at all part of the time? When it's on does it work ok?

Yes, drops at normal speed unexpectedly. or after braking it does not resume, will not activate from on, set acc. buttons for days. and just as it stopped it starts back working through it's full range perfectly for 2 or 3 days maybe a week, and the problem reappears.
1. I have eliminated any problems with rear lighting bulbs, fixtures,
grounds.
2. I suspect the dump valve, but how do you get to it in my 94 Explorer. I dropped the steering wheel, removed speedometer cluster, but that's not enough space for me
3. where can I get a replacement dump valve I can not find one any were.
4. Thanks for responding, I'm new to the site, it's hard to navigate for me.

The dump valve is located at the top of the brake pedal. There is a plastic lever attached to the pedal lever that makes contact with it when the pedal is in the "rest" position. It is adjustable, so you can push it down till it is making good contact. Good luck with it!

I'm sorry you have already done so much work to try and fix the dump valve! As MayJan said, it's on a bracket over the brake pedal arm. It will feel (you will have a heck of a time seeing it, so this more of a by feel thing)... you will feel a rubber hose up in there. It comes down to a circular plastic part mounted in a bracket. The circular part has a big hole in the bottom. There is a pad on the brake pedal arm that covers the hole when the brake is not applied. Adjustment: The circular plastic part has a kind of friction twisty mount. You just grab it and work it down a little bit. Once you can visualize this, it's a 15 second fix.

94 cruise control

I stopped working on the cruise control near the end of 2015 after putting in such intense time, and effort into that system, but as summer approach I will be starting back on it.
I have totally eliminated the dump valve by disconnecting dump valve hose from servo, capped and road tested the car over different speeds and ranges the cruise never activated, I put the dump valve back into the circuit it did not work for a week or more then it abruptly started back to work as good as new for awhile, and the BUG was back.
