I had a very small unit mounted to my passenger visor. Not hidden, but not very noticable, and it was hard wired so there were no visible wires.

i have my escort mounted above my rear view mirror, behind the tint. its recommended that you avoid heavily tinted areas, but it still works very well, and its completely hidden from anyone outside the truck. i also have my hardwired, and at night, you can dim the display so cars behind you cant see it.

I have mine mounted the same way. It's wired to come on when I turn on the key.

how did you guys go about hard-wiring your detector in? whats the best way so it comes on when ignition is on?

You just wire the positive to an accessorie then just ground the ground.

I ran my wire down into the Defrost vent to the wires in there.

if you have an overhead light or vanity mirrors with lights you already have a + and a - wire up there.

I have mine mounted drivers side abovce the rear view, hard wired into my overhead console.

Mine is in the usual spot at the middle bottom of the windshield. I ran the wire behind the dash inbetween the defrost panel and dash. Its hardwired to the ignition hot wire that goes to the radio.

i saw on TV a guy take his rador apart then he attached it to the side of the speedometer guage. the infered senor was attached to the dash and the display was next to the speed display. it was really slick. the reason for doing that is that rador detectors are illegal in that state.
