Wasn't there a thread on here about custom smoking your tail lights? I can't seem to find it. Anyone?

Yeah you use spray tint on the lenses, pretty simple.
Try a google search for this, its very popular amongst the import crowd and I imagine the details of how to do it have been covered, so you will probably have like 40 pages to sort through.

or you can search this site for tinting brake lights, tint spray, spray on tint, blacked out taillights, just keep tying until you find it :)

i want to smoke my tails too, but i havent been able to find the spray localy yet... still searching, im going to call a few places instead of going over and wasting gas to search myself...

Maybe contact VHT and ask where they sell it. I'd imagine there are tons of places in the Bay Area.

good idea... i may actually try that, after i call 3 stores and find out if they have it

You'd be surprised where you might find it. I searched high and low myself. Finally paid through the nose from a US seller. it took over a month to get it because they had to ship it surface. Then I found two places locally that had it. The one place had it priced cheaper than any US price I found. I found that place a few days after my can finally arrived.

Oh well. Live and learn. ;)

cheapest i found was 9 on the net(dont know about shipping), and another was 13... but 7 shipping

A local shop had it for $8CAD (about $6.50 USD). Another place had it for $10 CAD (just over $8 USD). I paid a LOT more than that.

what was the name of the shop? maybe theres some here in the bay area

Remember, I'm Canadian. The shop I spoke of with the cheapest Nightshades is a Canadian only operation called "Mopac". The other place was "Auto Value". Pretty sure it's a Canuck only place too.

Even places like NAPA aren't the same on both sides of the border. If they were, it would be a LOT easier to find Sea Foam up here. ;)

well my best bet may actually be off the net... unless a regular body paint shop would have it (which they should have something to smoke the tails)

I wanna do this... For those of you who have done it before how long do you have to keep your taillights out for? Could you spray and then a few hours later put them in? Cause I can't not have tailights for over a day

I did mine at night. You definitely should let them dry a few hours before you put them back on. You can always do it over several days. You shouldn't wet-sand anyhow for a few days to let the clear-coat harden a bit.
