but donut shops are on every other corner!

so i was tired of the truck sitting and doing nothing, so i started taking things apart to replace the head gasket.

where or what company is a good company for head gaskets? last time i did a head gasket i used a fel-pro set, but that cost me like $250. they sell the gasket set adn head bolts together on ebay for like $50, but i don't think i should trust, right?

so pretty much, what is a good company without being to exspensive or what company should i stay away from?

if i need to spend a little more for peace of mind and a job done right i will, i mean i don't want to take it all apart again cause i used piece of crap stuff that didn't work.

I look at those gasket sets on E-bay and who know about never heards of those brands before, usaully i just cough up the extra $$$ and get the Fel-Pros and have one less worry on my mind.

on another note since you are fixing the black one whats the plans for the white one?:)

:dunno: no plans for the white one. ganno take any parts i need for now.

when the tranny blows up in the black one, im gonna swap the whole 2wd 4wd thing, but after that i don't know

wanna part with the motor in the white one?:D still looking for one:confused:

i want the door panels and interior handles if it is grey...:)

hey you should sell or trade me the white one......

if the black truck works out for me, i will gladly part out the white one :)

the interior is grey and in pretty good condition, in fact everything was in good condition with that truck before i flipped it! whoops

i might take the little arm rest things off the door panels (they're all missing on the the black truck)

well, all kinds of stuff. we could work out a part cash, part tools deal. you need a welder right? i just happen to have an extra MIG machine....

 a welder!!!

It's not about the looks over here it about slightly over zealous cops who like to bust you for the silliest things. I was driving yesterday to go pick up my rear bumper for my Explorer and i got stopped for having a taillight out:rolleyes:(no ticket tho just a warning) I know someone else from here who got stopped for no front plate yesterday too:p: So oh yeah RJ would defintly get stopped for having that busted windshield Cops here love busted front windshields.

:D Who would that be?

My windsheild has been cracked for years now, and I never got a ticket for it. I surprised it didn't break in the rollover:confused:

As for the cargo window...just go to the JY! I got one for $15 bucks:rolleyes:

Is it cracked? never even noticed it I wonder how long i can get away with the crack in my windshield if i ever get the X on the road .

it's not a great one, but it's mig, and it will be easy to learn on. i used cold rolled tubing, a hacksaw, and flux core to figure out my welds. all you need is gloves and a helmet.

i have gloves and a helmet, and i know how to mig, arc and gas weld, just not very good.

but im not getting rid of the truck for a while.

what size welder? set up for gas, or flux core? if your lookin to get rid of it, i could use one.

i've swapped sooo many motors in my first gen I can take two trucks pull both motors and get the road ready started and drive it out my shop (motor #4 going in ) and tranny # 4 going in soon.... in a day (depends if I start be fore lunch)

i really don't know much about it. it's a super cheapy model, like a harbor freight model or something like that. but it welds, bottom line, and i'll tell you one thing, practicing with a ****ty ass mig machine makes you jesse james once you get ahold of a 2000 dollar miller.......
