Dana 60 being installed under my 91

Hammer:

I am very familiar with the TTB stuff and off roading. I like to refer to it as the "Snow plow" of all axles with its serious lack of ground clearnace it pushed more dir then it clears :) hahaha

I personally love my TTB, but thats just me and what I use my truck for.

I think you answered my question, I was curious as to WHAT was cracked and broken on your truck, and since you had the Stupidlift I am guessing you found a cracked pass side pivot bracket, etc etc but was the frame okay underneath??

410fortune:
The pasanger side TTB lowering bracket was broken off and only the bolt was holding the scrapnel on. This caused a second bolt on the same bracket to back so far off I was able to turn it twice with my fingers and it came off. About a year ago I replace the drivers side radius arm bracket. I noticed the drivers side was bent back and cracked. So that side needs to be replaced now. My front dif is leaking and the ARB is leaking. My transfer case skid plate had been bent so severly that it wrapped itself half way around my front driveshaft. This was only apparent after the TTB was maxed out and you could not turn the shaft. The gas tank skid plate had taken a hit so severe that I think I only have a 10 gallon gas tank now.
This was just the carnage caused by my trucks final run with TTB and before my sliders. That does not even count the damage to the sheet metal.

No more F...N around!

Looking Nice!

Sure Rick, steal my fire :)
Did you see the complete front assembly sitting in the back. I left the tires on and everything.

oh yeah, when are you going to have the video of them rolling the desert racer?

You know that was the best feeling I ever had, when my frontend looked just like that picture :D I also felt great when it was all back together too but TTB out = relief ;)

Rick: Thanks for the page on the site.

Hvacman: It really does feel great to get that POS out of there.

I hate to bag on the TTB so much. It really did work well and take a beating but it has limitations that are beyond what I want to do with my truck. I have been pissed at it since I put my 33 12.50s on. That small of a tire throws the front end out of ballance and causes the spindle nuts to come loose every 200 miles. Its a good design with bad parts.
My .02 cents

Cool, 44's are lame... kinda fun to say been there and broke that though :D

Damn that's gonna get awfull tight with a 4 link and a narrowed 60... what config is the 4 link going to be?

not sure what he has in mind.
I am not even sure what a 4 link is:)
I know I am going to stretch the front end out a bit.
Not the frame but the mount of the front end, if possible.

Wow, They are really working on it.
I think Im getting a stiffy

Yeah Hammer you will like the front axle moved forward :) I moved mine like almost 3" and that allowed me to run bigger tires and less lift :D I like having a lower CG it just makes me pucker less ;)

hvac man,
Do you have any pics?
Did you do a wright up on the converstion?

Hammer, what kind of shape is that D35 TTB skidplate in? Wanna sell it?

You parting out the old TTB stuff?

Hammer I did do a write up but I deleted it. I do have a bunch of pictures though :D I still have yet to get it out and wheel it but I am planning on Moab in Feb. Here is what mine looked like after the conversion :) Enough about me though ;)

I also moved my axle fwd 3". I could even stuff 37s not and still not hit the firewall. I cut my engine cross member like they did to Hammer's for added clearance.
