Discovered a new coolant leak

Check the freeze plugs and also the lower intake manifold.
 






Really hard to tell from the angle of the pic. Looks like the front corner of the head and timing cover.

Looks like the lower radiator hose is a Motorcraft factory original though.
 






Should it be possible for coolant to leak from the radiator cap when squeezing the upper radiator hose, coming from the thermostat housing? (/sidebar)
 






Check the freeze plugs and also the lower intake manifold.

If the freeze plugs are shot, how hard are they to pull and replace?

Possible... Yes.

Should it happen... No, you have a problem there.
