if u want the loudest than i would go with the true duals

Loudest and nicest do not go hand and hand. Especially on a V6. Go with a dual Flowmaster 40 in with a single 3" out. Will be loud at WOT, but it's yours and others opinions on how nice it sounds.

40 series on an OHV sound like garbage. Duals don't do anything but make it look good.

garbage? my single 40series muffler and 2 1/2" piping sounds great! it sounds just like my friends 5.0 rustang but he has like 50series or 70 seires

ya mine sounds just the same if not better than v8s, u dont even have an exhaust so i dont know what u are comparing it to iamtodd and beauj how would u go dual in

yeah my v6 fools people into thinking im running an 8 in my x, i got dual and it sounds awesome!!! make sure you hear and or see it before you make the assumption!

Before you jump to conclusions, I had a '95 sport which I had a 40series and duals. It sounded like trash. There is no way you can compare it to a V8. No way in the world! Get a gibson or something quite.

Loud and nice sounding don't usually go together.

i guess i juss have good luck cause my 6 surely sounds like small 8 man and my buddy has the same exhaust with the same motor sounds exactly the same only a tad quieter.....i dont know!!!

Im just gonna throw this out there. Ive been around countless explorers with every kind of exhaust you can think of and I have NEVER EVER heard a V6 sound anything like a V8. It just doesnt happen. And thats coming from someone running a Gibson exhaust, Im not gonna lie. It doesnt sound anything like a V8.

Sounding like a V8 at idle/mild acceleration and sounding like a V8 with the throttle pinned are 2 different things. Once those 3k RPM's come, everybody knows what you're packin'.

you got a point, but that is still not a reason to thrash on what someone has

hahahaha yeah i agree with that. if u want the V8 sound the only way to get it is with a V8. run a single in, single out of a magnaflow or flowmatster or something similar and call it a day. IMO i wouldnt spend all my money on exhaust, and be ditching the spare at the same time.

To some people loud offensive exhuasts sound good. The louder your Exhaust the bigger the motor. Then there are people who know better. You might fool an idiot into thinking you have a v8, until It's time to get off the line, and your 160hp give you away. Line up againt ANY v8 "rustang" and if they sound the same then he has made an even poorer exhaust choice then you. And when the light turns green and all you see is taillights, you will have only your loud, blathering, offensive exhaust to confort you.

wow, im not trying to make arguments here but i just stated my facts and you all just jumped on me like im a damn prey, what is this crap?? if you didnt ever have a 6 that sounded like an 8 thats not my problem, dont tear me apart because i got lucky or put the right exhaust on... i didnt think you people could be so against something that someone has to offer...i thought everyone was supposed to support each other and be like..."OOO yeah thats cool must sound good" not "well yea an exhaust on a v6 will never sounds like a v8" and such trash talk....Texplorer,i've been around countless explorers too, that doesnt change anything.... i know what i have and im not trying to be an irate person or anything but it sounds like an 8 but yes, at higher rpm's it has the v6 sounding characteristics but all around it could pass as an 8..

It would never pass as a V8 to someone who knows their stuff. Period. Why can't we state the facts that a v6 will always sound like a v6? This forum is about information sharing not falsely telling you what you want to hear. If you think you have the V8 sound, fine, just don't expect anyone who knows better to back you up.

whatever dude, i was trying to help someone out by what i know that i have and pretty much the same motor and all you people that just wanna sit hear as bash me in go ahaead because this is bullcrap!!! i thought everyonw was here to be friends not stab anyone in the back and totally turn on each other...mitch seems to be on my side with this one so at least im not the only that knows what i have!!!! im done with this thread.

I'm putting a single exhaust with no cats and a Borla muffler on mine, exiting in the stock location with a small stainless wide tip.

Why no Cats? They certainly won't hinder your performance.
