E3 plugs

Nothing says fast like a sticker

The last object I ever stuck a "sticker" on was back in the early 1970's when I was a young kid. I put an automotive products "STP" sticker on the sissy-bar connected, banana seat of my 20 in bicycle thinking it would make my bike cooler and faster, but when my friends got a look at it, they thought the stickers letters "STP" stood for, "Stop Teasing Pollocks"! :D Just goes to show you how misleading some advertising really can be. My bike didn't seem so fast after that either! :(

I used those bosch platnum +4 in my ol pickup(coil pack) and I actually lost power and mpg mainly due to the fact that yes there is more area for spark to jump but this Will also require more power to create the spark thus my stock coil pack wasn't strong enough to make them benifecial....

Just some food for thought

Just did my x with autolite professional wires and motorcraft oe plugs...
Edit - I can't even bring myself to put on a ef sticker much less anything else EVER

I installed the same Bosch plus 4's last year right after I bought my EX, thinking they were the best plug out there. Wrong, 2 mechanics both told me they weren't the "right plug" for my vehicle, even though they were right for my vehicle specs according to the parts store. Both of them said stick with OE Autolite's or Motorcraft plugs, so I told one of them to throw in a set of OE Autolite's single platinum.

I installed the same set of wires last year as well. Still using them and no problems from them.

Just a thought. Wouldn't those 4-prong type plugs shroud the center electrode away from the combustion chamber where the air and fuel is? Where the single tip(standard) type plug leaves the electrode more open to the combustion chamber. Isn't this the same idea as spark plug indexing?

Thanks for the info. I thought it had something to do with the distance, making the spark have less power. I think the whole point to them is not that there are four options, but rather the center is open so the gas and air mixture has no resistence to get to the spark. The problem is, yes it's just a wider distance which means a weaker spark. Equals not a stronger explosive combustion.

One thing I did notice is over the last two days, the power did increase. It wasn't as strong as before, but I think it takes a few days for the ECM to make calculations.

If you guys really want better, cleaner spark/combustion, research 'indexing' your plugs and stick with Motorcraft plugs.

There's where the real performance lies

Good luck with those Bosch plugs (been there done that 15years ago)

It's simple. What are the manufacturers using? You ever see Honda, Ford, GM using those E3 plugs? The plugs they use a conventional design plugs. Throwing your money away...
