Ok, my question is can a stock 97 non p head 5.0 run E85 every now and then... I know that is corrosive and what not for the rubber fuel lines, but running it every now and then isn't that bad... Right?? I know its about ninety cents cheaper than the cheapest grade out here, and on my income, i like it!! Any thoughts?

Running E85 will make ur MPG drop by about 5 mpg . IF you got about 400 miles on a 17 gallon tank like i did you would need 22 or more gallons of E85 and it would cost the same.

SHOW YOUR WORK CLASS
Gas
400 miles / 17 gallons =23.5 MPG at $4.00 a gallon will be $68.00 to go 400 miles

400 miles / 22 gallons =18 MPG at $3.90 a gallon would be $68.20 to go 400 miles

But When i got to ATL ever 2 month or so i stop at one that sells it and get 1/4 a tank b/c it is 105 or so octane and burns hotter so it help clean the engine.

I've ran it a few times, it hasn't seemed to cause any problems, but I wouldn't recommend running it full time/much at all.

I think if you did a 50/50 mix it wouldn't be too bad, but like it has been said, when you actually calculate out the mileage, it ends up all costing the same.

Yea...
JT, it runs alot better. I like the NGK's better than the autolites.... What were the plugs you recommended? I might switch to those later... But its looking like im getting around 13 MPG's now... I have no clue why.. One of the coils are new soo hum.. I still need to change the fuel filter so ill do that probably do that tomorrow. It has Duralast plug wires, do you think switching to some other wires will be better?
