- 1998 Mountaineer 5.0 AWD
To the point:
Does my '98 5.0 Mountaineer have an EGR hole between the center ports of the upper and lower intake?
More background:
I have two 5.0 Mountaineers. One is a '98 AWD daily driver. The other is a '99 2wd parts vehicle with an unknown year model engine. (It has yellow marking all over it so I am sure it is a scrapyard engine.)
I have the engine out of the '99. My plan is to clean it up, pull heads, change springs and cam, headers, higher stall converter and put it in my '98. I want to do all the detail work to it while it is out so I can just swap engines and have less down time. I have the upper intake off the '99 and see that it has no hole in the center. If my '98 has the hole and I put an engine in without will it make a difference? They both have an EGR valve on the back of the throttle body.
