Engine an tranny swap

I have a 1994 Explorer eddie briar edition.My problem is the trany was missing on it when I bought it .Can I replace the engine an trany with a 5.0 out of truck ? Since im not sure about the 4.0 engine.

A 5.0 tranny will not bolt up to a 4.0.

I think he meant swapping in an entire 5.0 and tranny assembly from a full-size.
If so its not a direct swap. You will need new headers, engine mounts, transfer case adapter(4wd models only), radiator, some trimming to the stock airbox maybe, etc.. etc..
