Engine swap - 99 into 98?

Hi, I'm new to the group and having a bit of trouble trying to figure out which forum I should post my question in....if this is the wrong place could someone please direct me to the correct forum
My question is can I swap the 4.0 engine from a 99 explorer sport 4x4 into my 98 explorer xlt 4x4 with no modification? Is it plug and play?

this depends on if both of them are sohc, or ohv 4L. if so, yes it will drop in with out any problems. you will need to change the fuel rails, and more then likely the sensors just to be safe. but if you are going from a sohc to a ohv, you will more then likely be changing more then what i just mentioned.
