whats up fellas i have a 1993 explorer with a 4.0 and a five speed,does anyone have any info on engine swaps using the original five speed,like a 4.6 5.0 or newer v6 mustang engine (2007 and up) what is needed adaptor plates or what not any info greatly appreciated thanks

nothing really else mates up except the newest sohc 4.0 v6.. the 5.0 and the 4.6 use different transmissions

sorry to make my first post by butting into someone elses, but Im in the same situation. 94 explorer 5 spd needing a (new to me) motor and looking for info on exactly what newer generation motors would just bolt in, or whats the easiest upgrade? I noted your remark that the newest sohc would bolt in, how do I identify what motors these are? Any help would be greatly appreciated . ps Willing to search and read myself, just lost on what to look up..TY in advance
