I was referring to the references about the 4Runner... I felt I should clarify that. Overall, I think most dealerships do pretty well overall, but there are some bad apples out there..... Sorry you went through all of that....

RonJrSVCMGR, I understood you were referring to the 4Runner. Plus I had read an earlier thread comparing the new Ex to the 4Runner and you had posted some notes there along with several others.
No worries. Glad your Ex is coming soon! You better post lots of pics!

Well I'm guessing that is what Blue Oval Certification was supposed to do...but it never worked. I guess they haven't come up with a new idea yet

All that the BOC program did in the end was instill fear in dealers over repercussions if certain numbers were not hit, and give employees the ability to earn special pricing for themselves and their families. The whole program turned from a good idea to a joke. Nothing torqued me off more than having a salesman hand me a sheet requesting me how to fill out a survey about how happy I was with my vehicle when I hadn't even left the dealership yet with the car.

It's all subjective though, what one finds acceptable someone else may find outrageously bad. Some you will never make happy, and some just don't care.

Liratoad - great info and never considered anything but a Ford, but you have reinforced things fo rme as well. I have 4 dogs and the comment about the vents definitely makes me feel better there.

I see you guys got your VIN. Have you tried Etis yet? Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. VinceL was right -- it is just a blank room. Nothing, nada... no schedule date, no build info, no diploma, no medal, and no heart shaped watch. I think in the end we will realize that we had it in us the whole time.

I registered on SyncMyRide but that is a bust right now too. I'm hoping that once it has a schedule date all will change though. It'll be time to climb the Murderhorn and fire the Sherpas -- Doh!

Yay! Is there an emoticon that does cartwheels? Wooooohoooo! I was stuck at work all day...but gotta pay for the new green gal somehow Cory, thanks so much for the update! That really kept me grinning all day once I read it. Went around telling the folks at work we got a VIN...they didn't quite understand. But you guys do! Woooohooo! Yes, Since95, I immediately checked ETIS and researchmaniacs... no luck. I knew it would be but still had to check. Will keep up with syncmyride as well. So a mid-July build...that means maybe an August delivery...which makes it quite a birthday present I am going to be even more insane now I think!

In other news, I spoke with the nice people who manage the Ford Incentive Protection program and I have the latest version, which covers the 13s, if anyone is interested. Not sure if I can post a PDF here; I'm on my tablet and I can't always see all the options. If anyone wants it .... like those whose dealers said that they couldn't honor incentives available at time of order... PM me your email and I will send it on. - Toddy

Just reiterating that our dealer is a pain in the arse. Not even going into it. Just a royal pain in the derriere. Not sure at this point if I will be happier to have the Explorer or to have terminated our relationship with this particular company (dealer, NOT Ford). Bought the Fusion and the Mustang from other places and are kicking ourselves now for trying to give the local guys our business. Won't be an error we repeat.

JUtecht, build date is tomorrow!!! Wooohoo!! We are very excited about that. Just having issues with the dealer...as per usual. No idea when the baby will be delivered...Seems like time from factory to dealership varies significantly. But we are hoping for late July/early August. Trying to plan a trip to NC in mid August and would really like to be in the Explorer for that. Hope yours comes in very quickly as well. Will be nice to ride into school with the new kiddo, right?? So fingers crossed!!

Order placed 5/03/12... required by dealer to put down nearly 10% at time of order
Unable to obtain DORA, order number or any form of confirmation from dealer....
Received order # and dealer # from Ford CS phone line 5/24/12
Received basic drive train, etc confirmation from Cory 5/25/12 (very prompt and welcoming response from Cory and all forum members!)
Finally pried DORA from dealer 6/4/12
Notified by Cory of hold for 4x4 and rims 6/7/12
VIN received from Cory 6/14/12
Window sticker 6/29/12
Build date 7/12/12 per WS...Friday the 13th per ETIS....dun dun dun....makes creepy horror movie sounds...
ETIS updates with build info...approx 7/17
Called dealer for update on transport, ETA....no info received 7/13/12
7/15/12 Ford CS on phone tells us in transport with ETA 7/30
7/16/12 Cory says 8/4 ETA...dealer says gee we're sorry we haven't been in contact but glad you have gotten to know Cory and Raul at Ford so well.... Major brownie points to Raul at Ford CS by the way. And all the CS reps. Very patient and very informative. Also hooked us up with the Incentive Protection Plan documents, greatly appreciated!

5/3 The wierdos are back, but, hey, they ordered a car. Even put money down. Financing arranged already. X plan, hmmm...we will try and sell them a warranty...and make written trade agreement.
5/12 The weird people want confirmation of order. Can't reach our order rep...she lives where there is no email, cell service and landlines were destroyed by sinkholes. Only logical explanation.
5/15 Those people are getting annoying. And where is our order rep? Is she on vacation? Hey, what is our dealer number anyway?
5/24 Yes, our order rep must be taking one of those Australian walkabouts...you know, like the guy in the wheelchair on Lost...but then he didn't need the wheelchair...what was his name again?...
6/4 Dear gussy, these people get on our nerves. Oh look, order rep has faxed us something...we will pacify the annoying ones with it.....wait, they say it is only their printout from Ford.com...they say they gave this to US...oh dear... They have talked to Ford CS..dealer number, order number...so THAT'S our dealer number...
6/25 They're baaaaacccckkkk....oh, they only want to extend trade in agreement....okay... phew...extend to end July
7/18 Wackos want to extend trade agreement again into August. When will this car come and make these people go away?...

Ugh! That's terrible Liratoad! My dealer has been so great, I'm sorry you have had such a inattentive dealer...and it really stinks that your ETA keeps getting pushed back! I hope it gets here faster than anticipated! I ordered on 6/8 and my ETA is 8/6 and my dealer said that it was actually a little ahead of schedule...I sure hope my ETA doesn't get pushed back! Also, the green will be amazing! ;-)

JUtecht, the manual is actually pretty interesting. Can't say I've read it cover to cover, but we nit the highlights and it answered a few questions we had. Not that nervous about MFT since we've had 3 vehicles with Sync already. I know MFT is different but it just seems like the logical evolutionary advancement. Sounds like we'll be getting our new arrivals around the same time so we can party together!
